8 Beginner Tips for Learning Python Programming

They say Python is fundamental for creating your future career.

There are thousands of things you can do with it. But before starting to learn a programming language, it is important to know how and where to start.

So why do you need to know the secrets of learning python programming before starting your path?

The answer is simple: if you don’t consider some beginners’ tips, learning python may become too confusing and challenging. You will be bombarded with YouTube videos claiming to teach you Python in 10 minutes, endless articles and experts claiming “It is easy, come on!”. Even if you understand the basics, you will get more confused in selecting and learning new tools. What happens in the end is that you get more confused and give up.

That is why BDG is always by your side!

We have generated 8 tips for learning python programming and are happy to share them with you.

Let’s go!

  • Tip #1 Make sure you really want to use Python in the future

This may seem a strange tip, but it has vital importance. Try to find out what Python is used for and whether you REALLY want to use it in the future. Do you imagine yourself working with it in an office or starting your own company, projecting something for yourself?

Research about the forecasts regarding Python’s future. Will it be really necessary for you? If yes, then you will always find reason and motivation to study it with more enthusiasm and passion.

  • Tip #2 Learn little by little

You can’t and don’t need to learn everything at once. Start understanding the basics with functions. Do simple exercises with them. These are the basic topics you need to focus on at first. You can use them every day and focus on the most important things to remember.

  • Tip #3 Coding every day

Of course, you can do it. When a singer takes a vocal lesson, s/he practises every day to maintain the level s/he has reached. Not the less. You can decide how much time you want to spent on coding during a day. 30 minutes are estimated to be the minimum time period not to forget the most important parts of the information at the beginning of studying Python. Another similar activity we do during the week is going to the gym. The more consistently we go, the better our muscles develop and look.

  • Tip #4 Talk to learners and ask for advice

Surround yourself with professionals and/or Python students. Everyone faces some difficulties while passing any educational path. Be honest with them and ask literally any question you are worried or curious about. Make sure you pick the people who inspire and not demotivate you. There are thousands of tricks and tips you can learn or transfer via just a simple Python talk.

  • Tip #5 When you ask a question, ask a GOOD one

If you are confidently asking questions, that’s already great. When you are asking questions about programming try to thoroughly think about them and later only ask.

Give it a try by yourself. Make it maximum clear for the others to comprehend. What is the problem? Can you solve it with your own logic?

Offer your solutions and share what you have already done in order to find the RIGHT solution

Or try to reach the core of the problem and guess the real reason something is stuck or working inappropriately.

Demonstrate what is happening without stressing the professional or anyone who is trying to help. Show what exactly is going on and just ask for the solution or advice.

If you start asking proper questions at the beginning of your learning path, it will become a ritual during all your life. It will save you tons of your precious time and will make you colleagues think you really put huge effort in your career growth.

  • Tip #6  When you learn something, tell others about it

It’s no secret that one of the best ways to evolve and broaden your knowledge is sharing. Not only because sharing is caring, but also because you hear yourself and, why not, sometimes even correct yourself. It is like listening to one and the same song several times: you soon remember the chorus like you wrote it yourself.

You may share your information via a Facebook or Twitter post and wait for other Python enthusiasts to react or write their comments. This way you will only enhance your knowledge.

  • Tip #7 Create something

Imagine a situation at work or at your own company. Imagine you need a list of your clients in an order and then try to find someone. This seems easy, but you need at least the beginner’s knowledge of Python to be able to create an Excel spreadsheet via coding.

It is unimportant what you are creating, the important part is the feeling you obtain after having completed it.

Tip #8 Take up a FUNDAMENTAL Python course

Talk to the professionals and other Python students mentioned above about taking up a basic Python course.

We hope they know how many successful student Business Development Group has had so far.

During the “Python Fundamentals” course here, at BDG, we carefully work with the student on the project s/he picks. Implementing theoretical knowledge in practice is a vital part of our courses, so we always pay special attention to it. We are very soon launching the “Python Fundamentals” course, as a result of which you will get to know the basics of Python and start implementing it in your own project with the help of the trainer.
